The Cake Diva specializes in creating delicious, edible works of art,
specifically contoured to your specifications. Each one-of-a-kind design is
an amazing composition of original construction, luscious cake and rich
buttercream. Our clients are passionate about our cakes, not just for their
imaginative designs, but for their delectable taste and eye-catching
appeal. Each cake is created completely from scratch, using only the
freshest ingredients. We offer a variety of satisfying flavors: from decadent
chocolate and strawberry tall to tempting ultimate wedding and the
"Mama Who" coconut, anything and everything is possible with God and
sugar. Every design is a result of our talent and your imagination, coming
together in the perfect blend of artistry and innovation. We work with
each client to create a unique work of sugar art that will add an exciting
dimension into any celebration, big or small, grandeur or simplistic.

All cakes shown here are-to all intents and purposes-completely edible.
All decorations and designs are from sugar and/or chocolate, and flowers
are either fresh or created from sugar. Ribbons used are either sugar or
fabric.

Certain cake designs (such as that of boats and stadiums), are
constructed from sugar and top the cake rather that consist of it, for
better design detail and control. On the other hand, cakes can be
sculpted into purses, doctors bags, guitars, or just about anything under
the sun. Hand painted cakes are also available.

If you have a picture of a cake you like, please let us know. We prefer not
copy cakes by other cake artists in order to give you the individual
creation you deserve, but it will help us get an idea of what you like and
aid us in the design of a cake that is completely unique and totally yours.
We can also work from sketches, photographs, patterns, ornaments,
fabric and a limitless number of miscellaneous objects: anything from a
pillow to your wedding dress can manifest itself beautifully in sugar.

pricing:

Cake prices vary according to the flavor(s) you choose. Current average
price is $5 - 6 per serving.  The cake’s design will dictate the final price of
the cake, and we gladly work within all budgets. Cake design is limitless
and we welcome photos, swatches, dress patterns or any other
inspiration for your cake.

The most popular question seems to be "How much is a three tiered
wedding cake?”. It’s never quite that simple.  A three tier wedding cake
can serve as few as 75 portions and as many as 300. It may be trimmed
with simple ribbon or hand painted or accented with fondant graphics.
Only after the final designs have been established can we possibly tell
you how much your dream cake will cost, and in that regard, every cake
is tailored to each and every wedding.

The amount of cake that you will need will depend largely on the
occasion. For example; a wedding cake portion is generally smaller than
the portion of cake served at a birthday party, since the guests will be
most likely be eating heavy hors d‘oeuvres or dinner. Some people will
not eat cake at all, others will have more than one piece, and some
guests will not attend. For a wedding, you may consider one slice per
guest.  The bigger the gathering the lower the ratio (since generally the
amount of choice of other foods and drinks increases).  More cake flavors
will require more servings.  And if using a groom's cake, a minimal amount
of overlap would be required.

Our design services are custom and therefore based on the current
market. An estimate of per-serving prices are available at our initial
consultation, and vary according to the detail and complexity of the
cake design.

Wedding cake prices always include:
  • An amazing and delicious cake in keeping with the style of your
    wedding.
  • A cake which is sized as closely to your required number of servings
    as possible, yet always leaves a minimum number of extra servings.
  • Freshly made cake layers, filling(s), and buttercream icing
  • Delivery* and set up

consultations:
Consultations are conducted by appointment only. Due to our baking
schedule, Mondays and Tuesdays are preferable, however alternative
arrangements can be made. Please call or email.

reserving your date:
To save a special event date, please remember that your date is not
considered reserved until a booking fee has been received. The balance
will be due 3 weeks prior to your event. Any order cancelled less than one
month before the event will require the entire fee to be paid, regardless.
The Cake Diva will submit a final cake design and pricing directly after
consultation with the bride; we must receive written approval (via email
or a signed receipt of the submitted design) no later than one month prior
to the event.

fresh flowers:
If you elect to incorporate fresh flowers in your design, please make the
arrangements to obtain the flowers from your own florist. The Cake Diva
will cut, arrange, and position the flowers on the cake, as well as make
any adjustments to the cake itself following their placement at no
additional fee.

cake toppers and stands:
Should you choose to include a topper, wedding pulls, or a wedding
plateau, please make sure that you have picked it out before the final
cake design is written up. This way, the cake can be designed in
harmony with your selection. The topper/pulls/stands
must be left on the
site the of event
the morning of said event. Regarding cake toppers,
please take into consideration size and weight, as some are simply too
heavy or too tall to be supported by cake.

Unless agreed to prior to the event in writing, any adjustments (flowers,
toppers, pulls) will be orchestrated by the Cake Diva (no exceptions!), as
the well-being of the cake remains the responsibility of the Cake Diva
until she leaves the building.

additional charges:
Additional charges may include, but are not limited to: extra decorations
such as rolled fondant, fondant bows, sugared fruit and separators or
certain specialty cake flavors, specialty fillings (such as mousses, lemon,
raspberry, or strawberry).

*delivery:
Due to the instability of fuel prices, $45 per hour of one way travel
beyond the greater Jackson area will be included in the final invoice for
wedding cakes. Delivery within this area is always included, and we will
travel anywhere within four to five hours of Jackson. Anything beyond
that is always negotiable.
